Nick Ball faces Australia's Sam Goodman in Riyadh tonight at the Kingdom Arena. In an all important matchup which could see a record British streak ended.

The Liverpudlian stands as the only current male world boxing champion, holding the WBA featherweight title. Of which will be up for grabs when he takes on Sam Goodman, which could leave Britian without a male world champion for the first time in 37 years.

Since Lloyd Honeyghan regainded the WBC welterweight title in March 1988, Britian has maintained a male world champion to date, remaining unbroken through generations with the likes of Lennox Lewis, Ricky Hatton, Carl Froch and Anthony Joshua, just a few to name. That streak would however, be broken if Goodman defeats ball on Saturday night, putting an end to one of the longest active runs in World boxing for any country, which is also a national record.

Despite this, Nick Ball has been heavily favoured to defeat the unbeaten Goodman and retain his championship in the build-up to fight week. So let's hope the historic streak can continue
